October is in full swing and from now on it looks to be a busy autumn for me.
I’m very happy to be playing with Rakalam Bob Moses again. I met him for the first time in 2012 where he was an artist in residence in Denmark. At that time I arranged a couple of gigs with him and was so honored to be invited to record with him in the end of his stay (The Skies of Copenhagen, 2013).
Then I went to Boston and played with him, George Garzone and Jerry Bergonzi there. At that time we recorded the album Splitting up in Boston together. And then ten years went by until I saw him again this summer. That is why I’m so happy to be playing with him again in a few weeks. We have four gigs lined up and I hope to meet some of you there. The lineup is Thomas Hass, saxophone, Thomas Agergaard, saxophone, Rakalam Bob Moses, drums, Michala Østergaard-Nielsen, drums and Richard Andersson, double bass.
We play in Hillerød, Copenhagen, Gothenburg and Kolding between the 30th of October and the 4th of November. See the full list below.
I also have a few solo shows lined up. In the last week of October, I’m going to a school for the blind close to Mannheim, Germany for a gig at the Enjoy Jazz Festival and the Faroe Islands and on the 8th of November I play after a theater show at Limfjordsteatret, Nykøbing Mors.
For the past couple of years I’ve played one show a year with Erik Kimestad, Mads Hyhne and Jakob Høyer. This year, however, we’ve doubled up and are playing TWO shows in Copenhagen on the 9th of November and on the 15th of December.
